Bubenheim - Elyas

Sie sagen: "Allah hat Sich Kinder genommen." Preis sei Ihm!

Ahmed Ali

They say: "God has begotten a son." Immaculate is He and self-sufficient." Whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him. You have no proof for this (assertion): Why do you say things of God you do not know?

Ali Ünal

They (the polytheists) assert that God has taken to Himself a child. All-Glorified is He; He is Self-Sufficient (beyond any need of anything). To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth. You have no authority, nor evidence, for this (assertion). Are you, then, saying things about God that you do not know (anything about)?

Amatul Rahman Omar

(Some of) these people (have gone so far as to) say, `Allâh has taken to Him a son?´ Holy is He! He is Self-Sufficient. Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth belongs to Him. You have no authority for (attributing) this (to Him). Do you attribute to Allâh what you do not know (yourselves)?

Asad

[And yet] they assert, "God has taken unto Himself a son!" Limitless is He in His glory! 89  Self-sufficient is He: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth! No evidence whatever have you for this [assertion]! Would you ascribe unto God something which you cannot know?

Hamid S. Aziz

He it is who made for you the night, that you might rest therein, and the day to see therein; in that, verily, are signs unto a people who heed.

He it is Who made for you the night that you might rest therein and the day giving light. Surely in this are signs for a people who hear.

Some people have said that God has begotten a son. God is too Glorious to have a son! God is Self-sufficient and to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. In this, you (people) have no authority. Do you ascribe to God things of which you have no knowledge?
